(GNRD) is pleased to announce the reacquisition of its former ATM networking division, which had been purchased by Ahead Communications of Austria in August of 2001. In February of 2002 Ahead Communications Systems, Inc. filed under chapter 11 of the bankruptcy laws and emerged from Chapter 11 on June 30, 2005 as a wholly owned subsidiary of General DataComm Industries, Inc. (GDC)

The unit operated under the Ahead Communications Systems, Inc. name during its bankruptcy and plans to continue to use this name. The combination of the two companies enhances the equipment portfolios and service offerings for both GDC's and Ahead's customer bases.

Both GDC and Ahead continue to be committed to producing equipment and providing service and other support of the highest quality to both its current and future customers.
