MIDDLEBURY, CT, June 12, 2000-GlobeCast®, the world's largest business broadcast and Internet driven convergent services provider, selected the GDC APEX® packet switch to construct its new worldwide broadband network for video and IP services, General DataComm Industries, Inc. [NYSE: GDC] announced today.

GlobeCast, the global Broadcasting Services arm of France Telecom, leases professional video interconnections on a permanent or bill-per-usage basis.
