The following GDC Products have been accepted by the
USDA Technical Standards Committee "A" (Telecommunications)
for inclusion in the Rural Utilities Service (RUS) List of Materials:

Network operators are choosing Pseudowires technology as an enabler of converged service networks. As a major feature of GDC’s Packet Cell Switch (PCx) technology, Pseudowires help customers transition multilayer legacy networks to packet switched networks. GDC’s Pseudowire solutions with PCx drive CAPEX and OPEX down and provide a path to efficient network convergence. Operators can connect both legacy services (TDM, Frame Relay, IP, ATM) and emerging services (Ethernet, MPLS) across a packet network.
The GDC Pseudowires solution with PCx provides:
- Circuit emulation, i.e., TDM/ATM/Frame Relay Services over MPLS
- Metro-Ethernet Services over MPLS/VLAN/ATM
- Superior traffic management for delay sensitive applications (e.g., voice and video)
GDC Pseudowires conform to IETF pseudowire emulation edge to edge (PWE3) standards. The solution is available on any Xedge 6000 Series Multiservice Shelf with PCx installed. All existing services supported on the shelf can be transported across a WAN using Pseudowires.
